Vapor honing (blasting) is becoming a staple to many motorcycle shops. Why? Years of rust, dirt, and grime build up on engines and dull the finish. Cleaning by hand can remove some surface contaminants; however, the finish is left faded. Blasting brings back a like new shine and brings any restoration, build, or project to the next level.
 

Some of the advantages to vapor honing are listed below:

• Provides an even and satin finish

• Does not remove important casting or identifying marks

• The process is essentially dust free

• Cleans the tight areas (hard to get to with a brush)

• Creates a “like new” finish

 

Most commonly vapor honed parts include:

• Engine cases and side covers

• Cylinders and cylinder heads

• Carburetors

• Pistons and valves

Quoting out our vapor honing services can be tough. Many factors play a role before any parts can be blasted. Is there any grease, debris, or contaminants on the parts? Is there anything that needs to be removed? For example, bearings, seals, gaskets, RTV, etc. We would be more than happy to do the prep, just know that the extra time will be added to your invoice.
